I think this is a great guide for those looking to get into any federal law positions. I know as a student living and working in Washington, DC that this could be a very appealing option for me. Let me know your thoughts on federal law positions, and if you've done any research on federal law jobs I'd love to get the conversation started.

Nice site -- I really like
Nice site -- I really like that it shows you where the jobs are geographically as well as in which agencies and functions. Federal jobs are a great way to kick off your career. Some programs are more prestigious than others e.g., DOJ & SEC Honors programs, but it's also a great way to get training and lateral into a larger law firm later -- and the federal government is actually hiring! The best place to look for federal jobs is usajobs.gov.
One of the best reasons to go
One of the best reasons to go to school in DC is that you can intern/extern in federal agencies during school. It's also a little easier to get spring and fall positions in the most prestigious agencies since you won't be competing with students from across the country (not, of course, to say you aren't competitive during the summer as well). I didn't work that much while I was in law school and regret it. What other time in your life can you try out a new job every three months?
You should definitely check
You should definitely check out the Government Honors and Internship Handbook, aka the "Arizona Guide" (called that because published by the University of Arizona). It's got all of the federal government internships listed with deadlines, etc. It also has tables for 1Ls, 2Ls, 3Ls, etc. But it's password protected so ask your career services office for the username/password if it's not already listed for you in Symplicity.
Yeah I think the fact that
Yeah I think the fact that the government is actually hiring is a really good thing. Federal positions are great because they offer stability. Does anyone work in a federal law-type position? I'd really like to know what the deal is with federal law jobs and if they really are a good experience or not.
