Massachusetts School of Law
Massachusetts School of Law at Andover seems to be courting the crappy LSAT market:
Also, because of the considerable criticisms of the LSAT, Massachusetts School of Law does not consider the LSAT when making admissions decisions. Instead, it considers an essay test that the school itself has developed and most importantly, it is read and graded by a full time MSLAW professor who, based upon years of practical and academic experience, is well qualified to assess an applicant’s ability to think and write well. The requirement of a mandatory interview, the review of an applicant’s entire record in school and the work force, and the essay aptitude test enable the Admissions Committee to identify worthy students who would be denied admission to traditional law schools simply because of their LSAT scores.
Sweet!
Sweet!
The ABA would not accredit
The ABA would not accredit the Andover Massachusetts Law School though because it does not require the LSAT but you don't have to go to an ABA accredited school to take the bar exam in MA. You could be screwed in other states though.

Save your money and use it on
Save your money and use it on an LSAT class then apply to a legitimate law school
The LSAT is a horrible
The LSAT is a horrible realiity. I have a friend who is brilliant -- Coast Guard Academy grad, Masters at Penn, and now she is considering applying to 4th tier law schools because she can't score above a 140 on the practice exams -- despite a private tutor.
I actually submitted a letter explaining how I was a horrible test taker with my applications (it was well written -- I discussed how all law school exams were essays and therefore my personal statement was a better read on my potential law school success). I'd recommend doing the same. I got into several top tier schools, including Notre Dame. And I passed two bar exams...first try.
I hate to jump on the
I hate to jump on the law-school bashing camp, but if a school doesn't require LSAT scores it's almost certainly not worth your money or opportunity cost. Study for and take the LSAT and worst comes to worse you can pursue other options if it doesn't work out.

Although, if you want to get a JD and an MBA, you can go to Northwestern, get both and never have to take an LSAT

I second this.

non-accredited =
non-accredited = California....the only catch is that to practice outside California you must pass the CA Bar exam and your state's bar exam
Fuck the ABA!!
Fuck the ABA!!
Massachusetts school of law
Massachusetts school of law is not worth your time or money
At the risk of swimming
At the risk of swimming against the tide, I hold now, and have always held the position that what you get out of school - any school - is directly related to what you put into it. As "Anonymous Monkey" generously points out, his LSAT scores were marginal to poor, and yet he passed the bar on his first attempt. Congratulations! However, it confirms the position of non-ABA accredited law schools, that the requirement of, and heavy emphasis on, the LSAT as a mandatory rite of passage, or an accurate forecaster of legal acumen, is a pile of elitist BS.
May I remind my esteemed and learned colleagues that the world thought Columbus was insane when he proposed that the world was round; or Bell when he suggested that two individuals could converse via an electric device at long distances; or the Wright Brothers who said that one day man would fly like the birds. We are a great country...one which encourages difference of opinion and celebrates free speech - in whatever form. Therefore, rather than vilify Mass School of Law for it's non-traditional - even militant - stance against the ABA , it may be more realistic to measure its successes by looking at the hundreds of successful litigators, and JD's doing other important work, who are currently employed and who thrive in the legal community of Massachusetts and elsewhere.
If you wish to take issue with anything I've said, or any of my stated opinions, please do so in a mature, and logical manner.

Anonymous Monkey: Contact me to discuss your success at circumventing the LSAT score by way of a letter. I'm struggling through an LSAT course now and, though I will take the test again in June, would like to know that there is an alternative to scrapping my dreams of law if I don't do well.
